I deleted this app after infomercials started coming thru.

No matter what level you play the AI will essentially give up every few games. Meaning it will do a move that is just stupid. You can learn to a point with this but then it becomes a waste of time because it does something just plain stupid. It will play a good game and then just goes into dumb dumb mode. Just make the AI not do that and the game would be way better.

I haven’t been able to get the app to connect in the last 3 days! It just spins when it starts and never collects.

This is game is fun

After every game, when you start a new match, an App Store video appears. There is an option in the upper right window to “skip video”, but when pressed it only pauses the video and offers a button to “Get” the game being advertised. It wont go away unless you get the game or swipe out of the chess app altogether and wait for a minute. I haven’t found any way to turn this off, and I’m guessing there is none, and that this is the price you pay for a really cool App that is totally “free”, and doesn’t track your personal info… If I’m wrong Devs, please drop me a line and I will be happy to change my rating from 1 star to 5. Thanks

It doesn’t let me promote any pawns

1. If it is possible to do an en passant capture I have not been able to figure out how to do it. 2. If is possible to promote to a knight instead of to a queen I have not been able to figure out how to do it. 3. Just recently someone has fixed something which wasn’t broke, and now it is broke. There is a new very artistic way cool introductory screen replacing the old one. Now the new first screen will not go away and allow me to see the main board, menu, or anything else other than the very cool introductory screen. The chess game is now unavailable and cannot be played. Please return it to how it was, a very useful practice engine. Thanks!

If you love looong hostage ads that take their sweet time wasting your life and won't let you go until they decide it's time, this is your baby! If, on the other hand, you dislike having your time seized and wasted for you, you'll probably want to give this a miss.

The game just copies your moves and strategies

Turned on airplane mode and still got ads, meaning they preloaded them into the game. That’s scummy and I don’t appreciate it.

Great game. Plays a good defensive game. But ads show up at the end of the games after I have paid to have ads removed.

Cool customization option, but the AI is very primitive and easy to cheese. It keeps using the same defense as black over and over again, without fail, in every single opening until like level 15 (out of 25) difficulty, doesn’t know how to trade material, and is so pathetically blunder-happy that even the HIGHEST DIFFICULTY LEVEL doesn’t know how to do a king-and-queen mate without blundering the latter and drawing. (I’ve tested it)

HOW DO I GET RID OF ADS

I like the game

I couldn’t eliminate the bright red squares from telling me my optional moves. It’s a little annoying. There’s a too long commercial offering between every game or setup action. It’s a bit too much. I don’t play video games except chess, so being offered to get anything else is pushing me to look for another chess app

Perfect game with lots of levels. People are worried about the aesthetics and appearance? Chess isn't a game of most beautiful board 😅

I love this game, and the simplicity of the setup to this game can be taught to anyone curious enough to try. Although Bobby Fischer would not approve.

Newby here I’ll really like it but my chess expert friend says it needs to have a history of the last game so you can analyze your game. I couldn’t tell him how I won.

Perfect balance of graphics and play

Whenever anyone has tried to teach me to play chess I couldn’t remember which piece could move where. This game is great for learning quickly and increasing your skill level over time.

1st. You cannot switch and be black. You should be able to switch so you can learn the best starting moves. This is the main reason I gave it a three star rating. 2nd. Some times I feel it go to draw to soon. I could be wrong on that cause I’m a beginner. But over all it’s a great game

This game has everything I wanted. Customization, no in-app purchases, no annoying ads, and no glitches that were bother some. The customization is a bit wonky, but once you get the hang of it, it’s perfect. No, you can’t change the shape of the pieces, but that’s fine by me, changing the color is good enough, especially since you can change the color to whatever you want. There is no select colors, just sliders that will change the colors, and have nearly infinite possibilities. I’m overall satisfied with this game, and can’t wait to play it more.

I really like the idea that you gradually move yourself up against the computer, and when you reach a certain level That you can’t go any further, you keep practicing until you get it right to reach to the next level. I like the 2D layout.

To many ads

This is the one you're looking for. It has everything that you want from both a beginners perspective as well as pro level

I am training my daughter to play this game. Thought she really enjoys it, I can not estimate her progress since there is no ELO score.

No adds. It is very nice to play a game with no adds and you can change the colors of pecices and set levels for computer opponent

I found this game to have great graphics and really enjoyed a few games. Maybe it was set in medium mode because it did some obvious oversights. I deleted this game after twice in a row it stopped the game as a win. Once when I was in check it wasn’t checkmate and then after starting a new game it claimed it won when there wasn’t a play on the king. I found it disturbing that it claimed a win and stopped the game twice in a row. Very frustrating what’s the purpose of playing if the program is defective. Should rename the game Russian roulette Chess. Don’t waste your time.
